We develop theoretical aspects of refined Donaldson-Thomas theory for threefold flopping contractions, and use these to determine all DT invariants for infinite families of length 2 flops. Our results show that a refined version of the strong-rationality conjecture of Pandharipande--Thomas holds in this setting, and also that refined DT invariants do not determine flops. Our main innovation is the application of tilting theory to better understand the stability conditions and cyclic $A_\infty… Expand

The motivic Donaldson–Thomas invariants of ($-$2)-curves

- Mathematics
- 2017

We calculate the motivic Donaldson–Thomas invariants for (−2)-curves arising
from 3-fold flopping contractions in the minimal model program. We translate this
geometric situation into the machinery… Expand

Genus zero Gopakumar-Vafa invariants of contractible curves

- Mathematics, Physics
- 2006

A version of the Donaldson-Thomas invariants of a Calabi-Yau threefold is proposed as a conjectural mathematical definition of the Gopakumar-Vafa invariants. These invariants have a local version,… Expand

Stability structures, motivic Donaldson-Thomas invariants and cluster transformations

- Mathematics, Physics
- 2008

We define new invariants of 3d Calabi-Yau categories endowed with a stability structure. Intuitively, they count the number of semistable objects with fixed class in the K-theory of the category… Expand

Donaldson-Thomas theory for categories of homological dimension one with potential

- Mathematics
- 2015

The aim of the paper is twofold. Firstly, we give an axiomatic presentation of Donaldson-Thomas theory for categories of homological dimension at most one with potential. In particular, we provide… Expand

Refined invariants of finite-dimensional Jacobi algebras

- Mathematics
- 2019

We define and study refined Gopakumar-Vafa invariants of contractible curves in complex algebraic 3-folds, via the cohomological Donaldson--Thomas theory of finite-dimensional Jacobi algebras. These… Expand

Gopakumar–Vafa Invariants Do Not Determine Flops

- Mathematics, Physics
- 2017

Two 3-fold flops are exhibited, both of which have precisely one flopping curve. One of the two flops is new and is distinct from all known algebraic D4-flops. It is shown that the two flops are… Expand

Stringy Kaehler moduli, mutation and monodromy

- Mathematics, Physics

This paper gives the first description of derived monodromy on the stringy Kahler moduli space (SKMS) for a general irreducible flopping curve C in a 3-fold X with mild singularities. We do this by… Expand

Iterated vanishing cycles, convolution, and a motivic analogue of a conjecture of Steenbrink

- Mathematics

We prove a motivic analogue of Steenbrink’s conjecture [25, Conjecture 2.2] on the Hodge spectrum (proved by M. Saito in [21]). To achieve this, we construct and compute motivic iterated vanishing… Expand

Proofs of the integral identity conjecture over algebraically closed fields

- Mathematics
- 2015

Recently, it is well known that the conjectural integral identity is of crucial importance in the motivic Donaldson-Thomas invariants theory for non-commutative Calabi-Yau threefolds. The purpose of… Expand

Gorenstein Threefold Singularities with Small Resolutions via Invariant Theory for Weyl Groups

We classify simple flops on smooth threefolds, or equivalently, Gorenstein threefold singularities with irreducible small resolution. There are only six families of such singularities, distinguished… Expand
